Given the fact that this estate has a tendency to do too much processing at bottling, this score could drop, but let's hope common sense prevails, and there is a hands off policy at bottling. There is a lot to like in this wine. The dark plum-colored 1998 Chateauneuf du Pape exhibits the tell-tale seaweed, pepper, and black cherry-dominated bouquet along with spice box and peppery undertones.
