They did not present their bottled 2009s to be tasted, but the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape (two-thirds Grenache and the rest Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault) exhibits a deep ruby/purple color along with sweet mulberry and black cherry characteristics intermixed with hints of spice box, roasted herbs and earth. This medium to full-bodied, fresh, lively, focused 2010 should drink well for a decade. (Not yet released)This large estate situated on the high plateau of Chateauneuf du Pape, due north of the village, produces two cuvees.Importer: Margate Wine & Spirit Co., Atlantic City, NJ; tel.
