The 1998 Crozes-Hermitage Les Meysonniers rouge represents a tasty, rich, chewy example of the appellation that is just beginning to close down. It reveals abundant quantities of red and black fruits, plenty of dried herbs, notes of meat and smoke, and a medium-bodied, lightly tannic finish. It is best drunk during its first 5-7 years of life to take advantage of the exuberance and spiciness. Importer: Paterno Imports, Lake Bluff, IL; tel. (847) 604-89000
