Valdipiatta’s 2009 Rosso di Montepulciano is an attractive wine despite some rough contours that introduce an element of rusticity. Dark wild cherries, smoke, tobacco and wild herbs are some of the notes from a Rosso that will offer its greatest pleasure at the dinner table. The Rosso is 80% Prugnolo Gentile (Sangiovese), 15% Canaiolo Nero and 5% Mammolo. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2017.
