As a retrospective, the 1999 The Contours Riesling is drinking perfectly now. The nose has developed into that classic petrol and honeycomb character with supporting notes of toasted almonds, tatami mats, key lime and wet slate. The light-bodied palate has a nice balance between the high acidity and developed fruit flavors, giving a long honey-nut finish. This wine still has a good 5 to 8 years of cellaring left.
