The 2009 Polissena (Sangiovese) is an attractive wine laced with sweet red cherries, licorice, tobacco and spices, all of which come to life in a medium bodied, somewhat fleeting style. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2014. This is an attractive set of wines from Il Borro, which belongs to the Ferragamo family. I have to say, I am quite curious to see what newly arrived consulting oenologist Stefano Chioccioli will bring to the table with his initial 2011 harvest.
