The 2007 Chardonnay Ashley’s Vineyard exhibits that distinct earthiness that seems to come from selected terroirs in the Santa Rita Hills and Santa Maria Valley. Crisp, elegant aromas of white peaches, apricots, quince, and white currants are followed by hints of flowers and honeysuckle. Medium to full-bodied with good acidity as well as beautiful balance and freshness, it is slightly more tart than the Bien Nacido cuvee. It, too, should keep for 4-6 years. While Fess Parker’s single vineyard and upper level cuvees are unquestionably serious wines, he also produces some of the finest values that emerge from Santa Barbara.Tel. (805) 688-1545
