After a long-term stay in the qualitative doldrums, this estate is beginning to turn out better wines. The 1993 Nenin displays a healthy dark ruby/purple color, a sweet nose of black-raspberry and cherry fruit, medium body, and firm tannin in the finish. One sample I tasted displayed an element of musty wood, but the other examples were pure, healthy, ripe, and potentially very good. As with many 1993s, the Nenin will benefit from several years of cellaring and will age for 10-15 years.
