The delicious 2013 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Asinone opens to a rich and darkly saturated appearance. The bouquet peels back to layers of dark fruit, dried blackberry, cherry confit, spice, leather and cured tobacco. It offers all the robust and enriched characteristics you should expect of a great Tuscan red. This vintage was a bit cooler than average, and the wine offers a pronounced sense of linearity and freshness as a result. Asinone should hold nicely over the next ten years.

Dark and brooding, this black cherry– and blackberry-laced red is supported by firm, ripe tannins and vibrant acidity. The structure imparts lift and extends the finish with spice, mineral and earth accents.
