Ray Signorello’s property in the southeastern sector of Napa Valley has produced a 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon (14.9% alcohol) that’s a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc. Its deep plum/ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of charcoal, new oak, red and black currants, and hints of licorice and underbrush. This medium to full-bodied 2002 is close to full maturity. It should continue to evolve and drink well for 10-12 years or more.
