The 2012 Touriga Nacional comes in at 15% alcohol. It was aged in French oak for 9 months. This is a big boy at a very modest price. It is very well done and quite a bargain. With an elegant mid-palate, it shows only modest mid-palate concentration, but it displays fine structure. It finishes tight and with grip, not to mention tons of flavor. The earthy notes on the nose and the finish give it some character as well. There is a lot of wine here for the price. The only remaining question is how well it ages, but if it holds a reasonable time, which it should, it is certainly a steal. Beyond that, we'll see when we get there.
