The 2001 Barolo Riserva Le Gramolere reveals the superior pedigree of its vintage in a gorgeous portrait of ethereal sweet dark fruit, cocoa, herbs, licorice and toasted oak. It is a richly-textured yet nuanced Barolo with notable complexity, polish and finesse, particularly for Monforte. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2021.
Importer: Giovanni Manzone continues to produce some of the most unique Barolos in the zone. Although his hometown of Monforte is best known for structured wines, Manzone’s vineyards are among the highest in the region, and as a result his wines show unusually delicate, often ethereal personalities.
