The 2006 Barolo Riserva Gramolere is a truly beautiful wine. Sweet red berries, freshly cut flowers, cinnamon, menthol and graphite all swirl around the glass in this vivid, totally gorgeous Barolo. A hint of new oak adds complexity, but it is not at all distracting. All the elements come together effortlessly in this classy Barolo. Firm Monforte tannins and healthy acidity should help the 2006 age gracefully for years. The 2006 Riserva is easily one of the best wines I have tasted from Manzone. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2026.
