Rhone Ranger enthusiasts will go bonkers over the three splendid Syrahs from the 1995 vintage. The ruby/purple-colored, uncomplicated 1995 Syrah possesses striking levels of sweet cassis fruit in the nose, along with a touch of licorice and pepper. This dense, medium-bodied wine offers delicious levels of jammy fruit, and plenty of glycerin and punch. It should drink well for another 5-7 years. The Ojai Vineyard has been producing excellent to outstanding wines over recent years, and they seem intent on climbing to the top of California's qualitative pyramid.
