Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London and at the chateau, it has been some years since I tasted the 2006 Gloria when I admit to giving the wine a "bashing." Now at ten years of age, to be brutally honest, I am not so inclined to alter that position. The bouquet feels a little simple, slightly smudged, with balsamic-tinged black and red fruit, slightly herbaceous in style. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy, slightly rustic tannin, quite advanced vis-a-vis its peers; it has a diffuse, rather drying finish that frankly would not be accepted by the property today, after the chateau was essentially rebuilt. I would drink this over the next 5-6 years, no longer. Tasted April 2016.
