The first vintage made in the estate's new production facility, the 1979 has aged well. The wine retains its youthful exuberance, as well as plenty of the tell-tale seaweed, iodine, fruitcake, spicy, jammy fruit, medium to full body, an austerely-structured underpinning, and a clean, crisp, peppery finish. It is a very good, although monolithic example of Vieux-Telegraphe. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
