A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot, it’s sourced from the western side of Paso, which is the cooler, better side. A great deal of new French oak was put on. The result is promising. It’s a full-bodied, dry wine, firm in dusty tannins, and with pronounced blackberry and cola flavors. A wine to watch.——S.H.(12/15/2006)—— 87
