The 2007 Clos de L-Obac is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha, Syrah, Merlot, and Carinena aged for 14 months in new French oak. It offers a similar aromatic and flavor profile to the Miserere but the addition of new oak adds a bit more complexity to the nose and a creamier texture. Mineral, asphalt, incense, spice box, and assorted black fruit aromas are followed by a dense, layered, savory wine with more structure and aging potential than its sibling. Give it 4-6 years of additional cellaring and drink it from 2014 to 2022, perhaps longer.
