The 1993 Taurasi, made from 100% Aglianico, and aged in French and Slavonian oak, displays a nearly opaque dark ruby/purple color. The nose offers aromas of melted road tar, earth, spice, and sweet black-raspberry fruit. The wine possesses a leathery, rich, deep, red berry fruitiness that offers sweetness, softness, and an undeniable seductiveness. This medium-bodied, fleshy, round, low acid wine can be drunk now and over the next 5-6 years. A Leonardo Lo Cascio Selection, Winebow, Hohokus, NJ; tel. (201) 445-0620
