The 2014 Taurasi offers depth and character, with some of the tightness and thinness that is characteristic of this cool and wet vintage. This is a more accessible interpretation with black fruit flavors, backed by spice, tar and campfire ash. With a little extra time in the glass, the wine does flesh out and put on volume, yet its overall persistence is clipped when compared to other more-balanced vintages of the past (such as 2010 and 2013).
