The 2014 Desmirail is a Margaux that I tasted last year. Like then, I feel that this is holding back on the nose, perchance biding its time, though I admire the tightly wound brambly red fruit that feels nicely defined. It just needs to "rev its motors" a little. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity, an abiding sense of symmetry and precision that comes through on the finish. I expect it will gain more vigor with a couple of years in bottle.
