Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, the 2014 Chambolle Musigny 1Er Cru les Charmes from Ghislaine Barthod has a ripe and generous bouquet with generous red berry fruit, spice and subtle undergrowth scents—complex and beautifully defined. The palate is very well balanced with fine delineation, quite sensual in the mouth with beautifully integrated oak and a sensual, silky smooth finish that attests to some very thoughtful winemaking. What a gorgeous and utterly sublime wine. Tasted September 2017.
