The 2008 Layers Red is a blend of 46% Shiraz, 20% Mourvedre, 15% Grenache, 17% Tempranillo and 2% Carignane. Deep garnet-purple colored, it has pronounced warm berry compote aromas with supporting notes of cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and a whiff of earthiness / underbrush. Crisp with a medium level of velvety tannins, this full bodied style has good concentration and a long finish. Drink it now to 2014. Peter Lehman produces a solid range of well made wines that, if lacking a bit of soul, are nonetheless very drinkable.Importer: The Hess Collection New World Wines, Napa, CA
