The 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Alchimie is mainly Clairette (70%), with lesser proportions of Grenache Blanc (20%), Bourboulenc (5%) and Roussanne (5%). Aged only in stainless steel, it's surprisingly rich, with notes of honeyed tangerines and yellow plums that feel creamy and lush on the full-bodied palate, despite an alcohol level under 13%. A bit of lime zest gives shape and length to the finish.
