The 2005 Barbera d’Asti Superiore Nizza La Court reveals lovely clarity and transparency in its dark red fruit. Although this isn’t one of the more opulent vintages of this bottling, the wine possesses plenty of harmony in an understated style. Notes of tar, smoke and toasted oak emerge with air, rounding out this delicious Barbera. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2013.
