Borderline outstanding, the 2014 Chateauneuf du Pape, which is mostly Grenache, with 15% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre and 5% Grenache Blanc. Destemmed and aged in foudre and 20% in new barrels, offers lots of darker fruits, leather, spice and garrigue in a rounded, charming, nicely textured package. It shows the vintage profile beautifully and will drink well over the coming 4-5 years.
