Tasted out of bottle, and even better, the knockout 2011 Saint Joseph Tilde (100% Syrah) carries a slightly modern feel, with a sexy, polished texture, medium-bodied richness and ripe aromas and flavors of smoked blackberries, leather, charcoal and peppery nuances. Showing sweet tannin and surprising length on the finish, this pure, impressive effort will have upwards of a decade of longevity.
