Ruby and mostly opaque, the 2012 Uriah checks in as a blend of 48% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Franc and the balance Petit Verdot and Malbec. It offers loads of red plum, spice-box, dried flowers and creamy licorice to go with a medium to full-bodied, pure, supple, elegant and nicely structured profile on the palate. The élevage here is 18 months in 55% new French oak, and the oak is beautifully integrated. It has a classical, balanced feel and I suspect it will age beautifully. Drink it anytime over the coming 10-15 years.
