Rosemount Estate must be one of the world's leading wineries for producing a bevy of delicious wines at fair prices. The 1994 GSM (the initials stand for Grenache (60%), Syrah (20%), and Mourvedre (20%) is a more ambitiously-styled red that has been aged for 18 months in American oak barrels. This deep ruby/purple-colored wine is spicy, oaky, and peppery, with medium to full body, tart underlying acid, and a spicy, fleshy finish. Still youthful and unevolved, this attractive wine should drink well for 5-6 years. Those wines priced less the $10 are excellent values. Importer: Rosemount Wines, Inc., Sonoma, CA; tel.
