Here's a plump and exuberant wine from a warm vintage. The 2011 Barolo Rocche di Castelletto is a wine that remains faithful to local tradition. It showcases a crisp and streamlined style with elegant aromas of pressed flower, wild berry, tar and smoke. It ages in traditional oak casks for 30 months. Despite that approach, the warm vintage shapes soft and enriched flavors that rise to the top of the bouquet.

This is fleshy, with density to the flavors of cherry, licorice, tar and tobacco. The well-mannered tannins are firm yet integrated, holding nicely through the tobacco- and spice-tinged aftertaste.
