The 2001 Cuvee Palomar is 50% Tempranillo and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon from vineyards situated on limestone. It was aged for 18 months in new French oak and bottled without filtration. It is dark ruby in color with aromas of black cherries and cassis intermixed with pain grille and espresso roast. On the palate the wine offers complex, lingering, dark fruit flavors with enough ripe tannins to improve for another 2-4 years.
