Dense, tannic, and muscular is the 1996 Barolo Prapo. A dark ruby color is followed by aromas of spice box, cherry liqueur, cedar wood, rose petals, and tar. This full-bodied, dry, muscular effort needs at least 5 years of cellaring. It is impressively built and dense, and may merit an outstanding rating with additional bottle age.
