Mauro Sebaste's 2011 Barolo Prapò is an articulate and complete wine from a hot vintage. The fruit intensity is powerful, but there are enough subtle background notes of spice, tar and grilled herb to add nuance and complexity. Indeed, this wine is layered and profound.

Vanilla, coconut, plum, black cherry and tar flavors all contribute to this broad, powerful red. Shows finesse despite its size, with a finely wrought texture on the long, spice-filled finish.
