A light gold hue in the robe of the Auxey Duresses Les Clous makes me question this wine's long term aging ability, but the extremely complex floral and spicy nose and the delicious ensuing flavors make this an outstanding wine. Full-bodied, with a thick oily texture and a mouth filled with deep minerals (iron) and spicy oak, this long-finishing wine should be consumed over the next 5 years. This note is the result of tastings I did in Burgundy between January 7 and January 29.
