The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Reserve is produced from what the estate often believed was the best parcel of hillside Cabernet Sauvignon. It possesses a more saturated ruby/purple color along with beautiful black currant and black cherry fruit nicely backed up by dusty, loamy soil notes. There is excellent sweetness on the attack, medium to full body, a long, pure, ripe finish revealing considerable tannins, and not a hard edge to be found. These wines often age for 25-30 years, but the 2008, which seems slightly more evolved and forward than past examples, should keep for 20 years. It is a beauty of elegance and power. Tel.
