Last Tasted 2/92
I know little about this producer, not even whether he is still estate bottling his wine. Several negociants have told me he used to be a source for their Clos de Beze. There is no doubting the two bottles of this wine that I tasted were as spectacular as this famed grand cru is capable of providing. Still deep, nearly opaque, garnet color, with a huge, aromatic, spicy, earthy, meaty, Peking duck-sort of smell, this full-bodied, exceptionally concentrated, powerful wine displays impeccable balance. Although it still exhibits some youthful tannin, it would appear to be fully mature, yet capable of lasting another decade. Do any readers have any other experience with this producer's wines?
