The 2015 Barolo Pira Vecchie Viti shows a light garnet color and a detailed bouquet with multiple layers of red fruit, spice, licorice, spent ember and soft cedarwood. The wine is taut and finely textured with fresh acidity and finely polished tannins. Generally speaking, wines from the 2015 vintage tend to be aging at different speeds, but this old-vine selection is taking its time and is poised to walk the distance in carefully measured paces.

Aromas of green olive, juniper and sage frame concentrated flavors of cherry, currant, strawberry and mineral in this red, all of it filling the sleek body, with terrific tension and a long aftertaste of kirsch, mineral and wild herbs.
