Abundant notes of wood spice and much more obvious structure and rigor than the Suchots with very rich, generous black fruits and supple, forward flavors and excellent finishing complexity. This too suffers from lowish acidity that will permit the wine to be enjoyed on the young side. Big, full-bodied and sexy with plenty of new oak yet it manages to retain a reasonable sense of the underlying terroir though this is by no means classically proportioned.
