The deep ruby/plum/purple 2012 l’Enclos offers wonderful notes of mocha, espresso bean and jammy black currants and black cherries. Medium to full-bodied, supple-textured, fleshy and succulent, this hedonistic and intellectual turn-on can be enjoyed over the next 10-12 years. This is a sleeper of the vintage. Bravo! The finest l’Enclos since 1982, thanks to the new proprietors, the Adams family (who also resurrected the well-known Chateau Fonplegade in St.-Emilion), the 2012 boasts a new bottle, a new label and a new style that avoids the diluted, thin, herbal characteristics of its predecessors.
