The 2005 Pinot Noir “Quarter Mile Lane Vineyard” seems to have reductive issues. There was a funky element to the aromatics but otherwise the wine showed well. 2005’s distinctive traits make themselves known but the tannins are integrated and there is enough fruit for balance. Drink this wine over the next 6 years. Perhaps I caught a bottle that was not performing to its full potential.
Adelsheim Vineyard was founded in 1971 and the winery’s first vintage was in 1978. David Adelsheim remains in charge as the winery has expanded into a new winery and planted more vineyard in the Chehalem Mountain AVA. In addition to Pinot Noir, the winery produces a bevy of quality white wines worthy of consumer attention.
