The 1990 Gewurztraminer Cuvee des Comtes d'Eguisheim has an evolved, gold color and enthralling aromas of toasted apricots, caramelized ginger, bergamots, and spice cake. It is a dry, well-crafted, fully mature wine with roasted peach, mineral, and gingerbread flavors. I would have elected to drink this wine earlier in its life (I prefer Gewurztraminers - and Zinfandels in their flamboyant and ostentatious youth), yet it is still well-proportioned, medium-to-full-bodied, silky-textured, and flavorful. It should be consumed over the next 2-3 years.Importer: Remy-Amerique, New York, NY; tel (212) 399-0200 and in California: Martine's Wines, Martine Saunier, Novato, CA; tel (415) 883-0400.
