Medium to deep garnet-colored, the 2009 Cabernet Merlot reveals an evolving nose of dried mulberries, stewed plums and creme de cassis with touches of dried mint, cigar boxes and sandalwood. Medium-bodied with just enough mature fruit flavors and a medium level of chewy tannins and balanced acid, it finishes with decent length. Drink it now through 2017. Umamu does not currently have a USA importer.
