The 1998 Cote Rotie Champin Le Seigneur (just over 2,000 cases produced) was aged in 40% new oak, and bottled with no clarification. It exhibits a deep ruby/purple color as well as a sweet bouquet of roasted earth, black fruits, licorice, coffee, and toast. Fleshy and medium to full-bodied, with excellent texture, this impressive Cote Rotie can be drunk now, or cellared for a decade.
