The 2014 Meursault Villages is quite backward on the nose, needing some encouragement from the glass, eventually offering hints of grilled walnut and smoke. The palate is rich on the entry with a honeyed texture. Hints of orange peel and quince here, plenty of freshness with a powerful, toffee-tinged finish. It is a Meursault I can imagine drinking well in the flush of youth to enjoy that richness.
