The 2009 Pinot Noir Resonance Vineyard (planted in the early 19980s) was also fermented with native yeasts, 75% whole clusters, and aged sur lie in 30% new French oak for 10 months. It emits a captivating bouquet of exotic spices, incense, raspberry, cherry, and smoke. Dense on the palate with succulent fruit and impeccable balance, this lengthy effort will be at its best over the next 8-10 years. Big Table Farm combines the efforts of winemaker Brian Marcy and artist Claire Carver. They bought property outside Gaston very near Elk Cove Winery in 2006 but, to this point, the wines have been made from purchased fruit. Ms. Carver is a label designer so each new wine from Big Table Farm has its own unique label.Tel. (503) 662-3129; www.bigtablefarm.com
