Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Moppa Shiraz (a blend of 85% Shiraz, 10% Petit Verdot and 5% Viognier) has a youthful nose of crushed black cherries, black plums and blueberries with hints of licorice, cloves and charcoal. Big, buxom, full-bodied and richly fruited in the mouth, it had a solid backbone of chewy tannins and uplifting acidity, finishing with lingering black pepper and dried herbs hints.
