The 2014 Barbaresco Bric Turot shows a good quality of fruit and enticing aromatic intensity that takes a little while to come into focus. The bouquet opens slowly, but it eventually evolves to include wild berry, licorice and toasted anise seed. This mid-weight interpretation of Nebbiolo offers a silky texture that wraps smoothly over the palate. It is void of any rough or sharp points. The finish is lean and thin. This was a difficult vintage and the wine could flesh out a bit further with a few more years in the bottle. Then again, maybe it won't.
