Firm yet well-integrated tannins provide the backbone as the 2008 Barbaresco Bric Turot opens up in the glass. I find lovely inner sweetness and perfume in the dark fruit, although the 2008 is several years away, at a minimum, from providing true pleasure. Hints of spices and flowers wrap around the vibrant, juicy finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020.
This is a terrific set of new releases from Prunotto. In particular, this year I was impressed with the quality and consistency of the entry-level offerings.
