The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino is a taut, focused offering redolent of sweet candied cherries, iron, minerals and flowers. Medium in body, the wine reveals plenty of depth on the palate, even if the intensity trails off a bit on the finish. The aromas and flavors suggest this Brunello will be ready to drink relatively early, but the tannins are formidable and the wine is likely to require a bit of patience. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022. This traditionally minded producer is based in Castelnuovo dell’Abate.Importers: Selected Estates of Europe, Mamaroneck, NY; tel.
