The ripeness and concentration, volume, and full style from the 1998 vintage is evident in the 1998 Grenache Old Vines. Made from vines ranging in age from 70 to 80-years old, this 100% Grenache cuvee (400 cases) shows serious cherry liqueur notes in the nose, along with some roasted notes, a full-bodied, lavishly rich palate filled with fruit and glycerin, and a fleshy, rather juicy and succulent finish. It is not meant for long-term aging, but for drinking over the next 4-5 years. This will score high on the pleasure meter.Importer: Dan Philips, The Grateful Palate, Oxnard, CA; tel. (888) 472-5283
